Wedding Floral Trends 2019

If you're a wedding pro or a bride to be, you've probably wondered how to stay current on wedding trends.  Some quickly phase out, but other trends stick around for years.  How can a bride make sure her style is "timeless" while still being "trendy"?  Here are my predictions for 2019!

I love how Trends swing on a pendulum that bring in hints of the past.  Two years ago everybody was into GREENERY and Simplicity! (I'm still loving greenery, but it definitely can be TOO MUCH!) Last year, the pendulum swung to larger than life, blooming bouquets and boho vibes! So what's next?

My 2019 brides have been showing me:
+Petite and Dainty Designs. 2019 floral designs call for blooms mixed with texture without overwhelming the look.  Brides are choosing textures and blooms with more intention to bring impact.  You'll see classic designs like cascade and round shapes making a comeback!  But they won't be tight bunches of roses like the 2000's.  Eek.

+Colors-Brides are learning from this year and bringing more colors to their inspiration palettes.  Instead of only 2 colors like Blush and Burgundy, they are mixing up colors and shades.  The popular dusty pastel shades of this year will hold strong in the wedding industry.

+Budgets-Brides are choosing to keep the wedding party and guest count small and intimate.  Elopements became popular for couples who wanted to focus more on the experience, which allows for more of the budget to go to the statement pieces like decor, centerpieces, and installations.  This creates a "higher-end" look without blowing the budget!

These changes in the priorities of brides bring trends that create more meaningful floral designs and styles.  Since fashion and interior designs are still leaning into the boho, modern, and farmhouse styles, the wedding industry will still nod to these styles until something else comes along.

Brides and Grooms are understanding more how to interpret their personalities and stories into their weddings and especially in their flowers!  If you'd like more information about how your favorite trends can be interpreted into your wedding story, let's chat about your personal style!  Consultations with Nia, the designer behind Historia Florals are ALWAYS Free!

Yes!  I'd love a free consultation!
